Collier Gallery offers Western collectibles from the early 20th Century to the early 1960s, Fine Art Estate of Lon Megargee, 20th century Western Art, WPA, Western Antiques and Furnishings. I will be offering a wide selection of vintage graphics, posters, movie posters, lamps, clocks, dishes and any and all items with a Western motif. Furniture , such as Ranch Oak and Wagon Wheel, along with home accessories will be offered as it comes to us. Also, there will be vintage rodeo scarfs, tablecloths, framed and unframed with our original hand carved frames. We will include vintage western imagery reproduced in a variety of formats when the original is not available or the original is not in the price range you desire. Cowboy Throwing Lariat Copper Statue, $1,200.00. This is an extremely rare copper patina statue, it is "mint condition, warehouse new," made in the 1940s by Owens Company that produced high end novelties and accessories for home and office. They produced numerous subjects, including a distinctive line of Western subjects. The Owens Company is the maker of the famous Oscars for the movie industry. I purchased the remaining warehouse inventory, which had been setting in inventory over fifty years. This is the last of a series of Western statues. Stetson Advertising Placard 3 ca. 1920 Lithograph on chipboard 14 x 11 inches $350.00 Shipping included. Condition is excellent, there are glue marks on back where they were mounted in the portfolio. These window cards were handed out to Western clothing stores or related retail stores to display in windows or on counters. This placard and others was in a large portfolio from the Stetson Hat Company, documenting the images created by Stetson Hat with noted illustrators of the time, artists that we now recognize. These image usually did not appear in print ads. They were more unique, even to the point of one becoming the logo for Stetson Hat, "The Last Drop From His Hat" by Lon Megargee. The placards in the portfolio had descriptions by Stetson Hat showing legal copyright filings in federal courts dated in1936, though imagery shows the fashion of the time and places most of the clothing and settings to be from 1919 to 1929 as stated in the descriptions.
